FOOR, MEIER, MNEIER, MNEUR posted by Shelly on Friday, December 21, 2001

Need help reading a name in the 1880 Amboy Twp., Fulton Co., Ohio census. On p 25, visitation 233/237, is Abraham FOOR, 57y blacksmith and wife and grandchild. I have been able to find all other known ch of Abraham except for an Elizabeth FOOR b abt 1846 in PA. The family before this Foor family has an Elizabeth, 34y b PA (making her also b abt 1846). I'd like to follow up on this Elizabeth who is a wife and has two children shown, Frank and Ellen, but I'm not familiar enough with Fulton county surnames. The husband's first name is Abram, he's 40 b in OH. It looks like his surname could be MNEIER? MEIER? MNEUR? Does anyone have access to this census who could give me their opinion on what that surname is? It's visitation 232/236.
