Schmucker,
Melvin J. -
In middle life he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour and united with the Central Mennonite Church where he continued fellowship until the end. On January 8, 1913 he was married to Mary Lantz whom he leaves mourning his departure; also one sister, four octogenarian Aunts, a host of Cousins, Nephews, and Nieces, are in bereavement. His parents and three Brothers preceded him. Only one member of the immediate family, his only Sister (Alma) Mrs. Howard Taylor of Stryker, O., remains. Melvin enjoyed company and during the years of poor health he spent many hours just looking out of the window for someone to come to visit him. "Sometimes you went
away For just a little while, And I could scarcely wait To see again your
smile. I listened for your step, My hand was at the door, And what a joy
it was To have you back once more. "One day you said "Goodby," And
went to see the King, His beauty to behold And precious sheaves to bring;
In eagerness I wait The while I feel my lack. I'm looking hour by hour
