1. Emma (Lugbill) Sauder

Emma, daughter of Christian and Magdalena (Stuckey) Lugbill, was born
near Archbold, Ohio, February 22, 1885. She entered into Eternal Rest while
at the home of her daughter near Stryker, Ohio, at the age of 67 years, 10
months, and 26 days.

On January 18, 1910, she was united in marriage to William Sauder of
near Archbold, Ohio. To this union were born four children: Laura
(deceased),Ray, of Wauseon, Ohio, Opal (Mrs. Earl Stuckey) of
Stryker, Ohio, and Ilva (Mrs. Walter Short) of Pettisville, Ohio.

She leaves to mourn her sudden departure: one son, two daughters;
four grandchildren, two sisters: Lydia (Mrs. Frank Rupp), Viola (Mrs.
Myron Nofziger), three brothers: Peter, Eli and Sylvanus Lugbill, all
of Archbold, Ohio; besides many other *realtives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband about seven years ago, with
whom she had lived in happy wedlock for about thirty five years, also by
one daughter, Laura, one grandchild, Rosalyn Sauder, her father, mother,
one sister, Katie (Mrs. Menno Short), one brother, and one sister who
died in early childhood.

She was a kind and loving mother and was devoted to God, her family,
her neighbors, and her Church. She always had ready hands for all. She
was enjoying a reasonable measure of health until a few days before her
passing.

In her girlhood she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour, and united
with the Central Mennonite Church, remaining faithful throughout life.

In God's design of life for us,
That He Himself has planned,
There are so many hidden things
We do not understand.
But He would have us know His plan
As such a wondrous one,
That when we do not understand,
To say, "Thy will be done."

There is a long and winding road
Along which each must go,
It leads beyond the hills of time
Into the sunset glow,
But only for a little while
Our loved ones leave our sight,
For just beyond the hills they wait
In God's Eternal Light.

Card Of Thanks

We wish to thank all who so kindly and comfortingly helped in any way
during the illness and passing of our loved one.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stuckey,
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stuckey,
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sauder.

IN MEMORIAM
In memory of our loving Mother, Emma Sauder, who passed away one
year ago January 17th.

Mother was tired and weary,
Weary with toil and with pain;
Put by her glasses and rocker--
She will not need them again.
How we miss her smiling face;
But you left us to remember
None on earth could take your place
But again we hope to meet thee,
When the day of life is fled,
There in Heaven we hope to meet thee
Where no farewell tears are shed.

The Children.

"THE WEAVER"

My life is but a weaving
Between my Lord and me,
I cannot choose the colors
He worketh steadily.
Off times He weaveth sorrow
And I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper
And I the under side.

Not till the loom is silent
And the shuttle cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas
And tell the reason why,
The dark threads are as needful
In the weaver's skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned.

We wish to express our sincere appreciation for all kindness, prayers, cards,
flowers and assistance extended to us during the sudden death and burial of our
wife and mother. All were deeply appreciated.

A TRIBUTE TO MOTHER

Dearest Mother, Your labor is o'er,
Your willing hands will toil no more
You've gone from our home, but not our love
To dwell with Jesus in Heaven above.

The pleasures of sin you have taught us to spurn
And always to God's Word our thoughts to turn
With Christ and His Grace Divine
May your Christlife within us shine.

Rest on dear Mother, your joy is complete,
Which you waited for here as you sat at his feet.
Your faith in God will lead us on
While we journey and wait till we meet at His throne.

Life! I know not what thou art,
But know that thou and I must part;
And when, or how, or where we met,
I own, to me's a secret yet.
Life! We've been long together,
Through pleasant and through cloudy weather;

'Tis hard to part when friends are dear,
Perhaps 'twill cost a sigh, a tear,
Then steal away; give little warning;
Choose thine own time.
Say not, "Good night," but in some brighter clime
Bid me "Good Morning."

Drowns In Coldwater Lake, Tuesday

Daughter Of Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Stamm Loses Life When Seven Girls Overturn In Boat;
Body Not Located Tuesday Night

Connie Stamm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Stamm, drowned in Coldwater Lake,
Mich., Tuesday afternoon at about 1:00, when the boat in which she and six other children
from Archbold and community were riding, sank in about 15 feet of water.

Fifteen pre-teen-age girls, members of a Sunday School class of the Evangelical
Mennonite church, were taken in three cars by Mrs. John L. Short and Marlene
and Mrs. M. K. Stuckey to the John L. Short cottage at Coldwater Lake for an
all-day picnic.

In the boat, besides the victim, were: Janeth Schantz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Milton Schantz; Sharon Rupp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Rupp, Stryker;
Linda Stamm, sister of Connie; Clara Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Miller;
Ruth Ann Short, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Short; and Marlene Short,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Short, who was operating the motor-driven boat
which the family owned.

The 16-foot aluminum boat was in 15-foot water near place known as Indian Point
when the tragedy occurred. Nearby fisherman saw the accident.

The boat nosed into water and turned over, dumping the seven girls suddenly.

Fishermen were able to rescue the others but Connie's body did not rise, which led
rescuers to believe she had been caught in weeds deep in the lake.

Dragnets, grappling hooks and every available device, was used to try to find the
body, and until a late hour, Tuesday night, could not be found.

Connie is the third child of Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Stamm. There are four other girls in
the family: Cars Lou, Linda, Judith, Joan; and two boys: Fred and Michael.
