Bob Lammon
In memory of Bob Lammon who passed away one year ago May 1, 1976. When the ties of love are broken and our loved one had to part, it leaves a wound that never heals and an ever aching heart.   No one knows how much we miss him since be was called away, but to me who loved him dearly it seems just like yesterday. He left us his smile and his sweet memory that the passing of time just endears, he left his laughter to ring in our hearts and comfort us all through the years. He left us his faith in the goodness of life and his courage to seek it as such and though we are grieved that be left us, we are grateful he left us so much. Not dead to us who loved him, not lost but gone before, he lives with us in memory and will forever more.

Erma M. Lantz
Erma M. Lantz, 83, Pettisville, died in a Napoleon nursing home early Sunday, Feb. 17 where she had been a patient since December. She was the widow of the late Ammon J. Lantz. She spent her lifetime in the Archbold and Pettisville communities. Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Opal Lauber and Miss Ruth Lantz, both of Pettisville; five sons: Emerson, Edwin and Gene of Pettisville, and Dale and Robert of Archbold; two brothers, Ben Buehrer of Ridgeville Corners, and Vernon of Stryker; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be, held today, Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. in St. John's United Church of Christ conducted by Rev. Gary R. Hodges. Burial in the Pettisville Cemetery. Grisier Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

HARRY C. LAUBER
Harry C. Lauber, son of Joseph and Christine Bucher Lauber was born near Archbold, Ohio, June 25, 1885, and passed: away at Detwiler hospital in Wauseon, *oh Saturday, Feb. 25, at the age of 64 years and 7 months. Death came as the result of injuries suffered in an auto-train crash a few hours before. Mr. Lauber was married to Mattie Short on Nov. 25, 1908. Four children were born .to this union, who, with their mother survive. They are as follows: Mrs. Catherine Keim, Mrs. Cara Belle Rettig, Glenn and Ione Lauber, all of Archbold and community. He also leaves to mourn his departure: 4 grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, Ora, Edward, Olley Lauber and Mrs. Gladys Taylor of Archbold. Mrs. Bertha Saunders of Wauseon, and Elmer Lauber of Grand Rapids, Ohio. Mr. Lauber spent his entire life in Archbold and vicinity, being an employee of LaChoy Products, Inc., at the time of his death.

Samuel R. Lauber
Samuel R. Lauber, son of Melvin C. and Carrie Lauber, was born June 21, 1912, at Elmira, Ohio. Near which place he grew up and was still at home with his parents. Samuel was of a bright, sunny disposition and of clean moral habits, and during his short stay with us made many true friends, who were deeply shocked to learn of his tragic death and who with his parents and relatives experienced a sorrow which is beyond expression.   He departed this life October 29, at Angola, Indiana, at the age of 24 years, 4 months, and 8 days. There remain to mourn his departure: his father and mother, Melvin C. and Carrie Lauber; two brothers, Winifred and Robert, and one sister Orpha. (One sister, Irma, having preceded him in death), also his grandmothers, Mrs. Samuel Lauber and Mrs. John Zimmerman, and many, other relatives and friends.

Man groweth up, and like the grass,
Soon withereth away;
His brightest prospects soon will pass,
As fades the summer day.
Yea, swiftly as the tale that's told,
Our years do glide away;
Teach us to number well our years,
And, walk in wisdom's way.

SAMUEL LAUBER (Oct 1936)
Samuel Lauber, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Lauber, died in a hospital in Angola; Ind., Thursday evening, from injuries suffered the previous Sunday, in a motorcycle accident on Route 20 near that place. Funeral services were held in the Lauber Hill church, Sunday afternoon, at two o'clock with Rev. W. J. Rupp officiating. Interment in church cemetery. Deceased is survived' by parents, brother, and two sisters. Samuel Lauber suffered a broken right leg, his left leg badly injured, and other serious bruises. He was taken to the hospital but died of peritonitis. His companion, Rutherford Runkel of Bryan, was also riding a motorcycle, and the two cycles became entangled, throwing Lauber into a car driven by Mrs. Wm. Becker of Toledo. Mrs. Laura Bell, riding with Mrs. Becker, was injured. Runkel suffered bruises and spent three days in the hospital.
MOTORCYCLISTS IN CRASH
Samuel Lauber, 24-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Lauber of Elmira, is in the hospital at Angola, Ind. He was riding his motorcycle on Sunday afternoon, and met another young man from Bryan, also on a motorcycle, and they were riding east from Angola to Bryan when they both collided with an automobile going east. Both young men were injured, Samuel Lauber receiving broken bones above and below the knee, and the other had a bad cut above the eye beside other bruises. The occupants of the auto were not injured although the machine turned over.

Last Rites Held For Phil T. Laver
Phil T. Laver, 92, Pettisville, died Wednesday at Veterans Hospital, Ann Arbor, Mich. Deceased spent his lifetime in Fulton County, served as a Justice of Peace for many years and was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. Survived by one sister, Ura Laver of Delta. Services were held at Wauseon, Sunday afternoon. Burial in Wauseon cemetery where Pettisville American Legion Post conducted a military service.

Susan Lawrence
Susan C. Lawrence, 80, of 607 Ottokee St., Wauseon, died early Saturday morning at the Leisure Oak Nursing Home, Defiance, following a long illness. Born in Henry County, she has resided in Wauseon for many years, and was the widow of the late Kenneth Lawrence. She was a member of the Church of The Master; Wauseon Senior Citizens; and the Ottokee Grange. She is *surved by step-sons, Richard Lawrence of Kendallville, Ind., and Harlan Lawrence of Wauseon; step-daughters, Mrs. Orville Rupp of Wauseon and Mrs. George Scherer of Palm Springs, Florida; brothers, Corwin and Nelson Burkholder both of Wauseon and Jacob Burkholder of Archbold; 13 step-grandchildren; and ten step-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from the Church of the Master, Tuesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock. Rev. James H. Riley officiating. Interment will be in the Lauber Hill Cemetery.

Fred D Lehman (October 1969)
Fred D. Lehman, 92, Pettisville, died Monday noon at a nursing home in Napoleon, following a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Pettisville and for 52 years was a foreman on a section crew, Elkhart division of the New York Central. Survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Fred S., Wauseon; daughter, Mrs. Lucille Schroeder, Wauseon; brother, Edward, Stryker; sister, Mrs. Jessie Ruhlin, Wauseon; one grand-daughter and one great-grandchild. Services will be held in Edgar Funeral Home, Wauseon, Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. James R. Fox. Burial in Pettisville Cemetery.
Rites to be Held for Fred D. Lehman
Fred D. Lehman, 92, of Pettisville, died Monday noon at the Northcrest Nursing Home, Napoleon, following a long illness. A life long resident of Pettisville, he had served over 52 years as foreman of the Section Crew, Elkhart Division of the New York Central Railroad. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Maintenance of Ways Men and the Trinity Lutheran Church of Wauseon.
Surviving are his wife Elizabeth, son Fred S. Lehman, and daughter Mrs. Lucille Schroeder, both of Wauseon, brother Edward of Stryker, sister Mrs. Jessie Ruhlin, of Wauseon, one grandchild, and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted from the Edgar Funeral Home Thursday afternoon, at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. James R. Fox will officiate. Interment will be in the Pettisville Cemetery.

GEORGE SOLOMON LEININGER
George Solomon Leininger, the son of Solomon Leininger and Anna nee Seyfang, was born on Sept. 26, 1875 in Fulton County, Ohio. One month later (October 26, 1875) he was received into God's Covenant of Grace through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. He became a Communicant member of St. James Lutheran congregation on the 12th day of May, 1889 through the rite of confirmation. On October 29, 1899 he was joined in holy wedlock with Wilhelmina Brandt. To this union were born six children.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Wilhelmina, three sons Leo C. of Bryan; George O. of Archbold; Herbert J. of Defiance; two daughters; Mrs. Wilhelmina Rigg of West Unity; Mrs. Edna Miller of Archbold; one brother John of Defiance; two sisters, Miss Phillippine Leininger and Mrs. Godfrey Stiritz both of Delta; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a vast number of other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were one son, Harlo W. and four brothers, Charles, Gabriel, Carl and Otto.
Mr. Leininger lived the greater part of his 81 years in Fulton county, Ohio. He gave goodly number of these years serving as an officer in his church and as much time as was needed for those who desired his companionship and advice. During the seven years of my pastorate at St. James there were very few Sundays that George was not assembled with his fellow Christians in both Bible Class and Divine Service. This together with his faithful attendance at the Lord?s Table certainly set a splendid example for both his family and the members of his congregation to follow. During his recent illness which confined him to his home he was most receptive to pastoral visits being attentive in his devotions and remaining a faithful guest at the Lord's Supper. He departed this life in Christian faith last Monday morning, October 22, 1956, at the age of 81 years and 26 days. His mortal remains will be laid to rest at the St. James Lutheran Cemetery.

Hold him safely in Thy keeping,
This dear one whom we loved.
Keep him safe now tho he's sleeping
Lord of heaven and earth above.
Guard him oh most tenderly
For he is safe when kept by Thee: Amen!

JOSEPH G. LEININGER
Joseph Gustav Leininger, the son of William Leininger, Sr., and his wife, Katharine, was born on November 5, 1889, in Fulton County, Ohio. In the same year on December 15th he was received into God's covenant of Grace of through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. Having received due instruction in the Word of God under the Rev. J. F. Ruff, then Pastor of St. James Lutheran Congregation, he was received into Communicant Membership. On October 10, 1912, he was united in Holy Wedlock to Dinah Silva Rice. As they spent their days on the farm in the vicinity just south of the city of Archbold, God gave them, in addition to innumerable other blessings, the gift of four children: Velma or Mrs. William Leupp, Paul, Willard, and Arnold.
Joseph departed this life last Tuesday morning, September 11, after an apparent stroke. In response to the call of those who loved him, his Pastor was privileged to speak to him once again, of the Love of God for sinful man bestowed through faith in Jesus Christ.
Preceding him in death are his parents and one brother, Edward. He leaves to mourn his passing, in addition to his widow and children, one sister, Mrs. Clara Rice, three brothers: Emil, Gustav, and William, ten grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Following the Service at St. James Lutheran Church his remains were committed to the grave in St. James Lutheran Cemetery.

So often in the paths I dread,
But, trusting Him, I?ll press my way;

Mrs. Lydia Leupp (nee Yoder) Is Fatally Injured
Mrs. Lydia Leupp, 77, Archbold R. 2, riding with her son Emanuel, 46, west on State Route 2 at the Stamm corner, was fatally injured and taken to Wauseon hospital in the Grisier ambulance, when their car collided with one driven by Wilbur Roth, 34, Archbold Route 3, driving southward, at the intersection of Routes 2 and 66.At the hospital, it was found, Mrs. Leupp had head lacerations, and x-ray showed fractured right arm. She passed away on Tuesday morning without regaining complete consciousness.
Surviving are two daughters and one son: Mrs. Earl Luty and Mrs. Earl Ruffer of Stryker, and Emanuel at home; 4 sisters: Mrs. Fannie Klopfenstein, Mrs. Katherine Weber, Archbold; Mrs. Leah Burkholder, West Unity; Mrs. Rose Meyers, Elkhart, Ind.; 3 brothers: Joseph Yoder, Holland, Ohio; Joel Yoder, Defiance; Elmer Yoder, Morenci, Mich.; 7 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral will be held at the Grisier funeral home at 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, Rev. Reuben Short officiating. Interment in Pettisville cemetery.
Emanuel, taken to the hospital, was found to have fractured right clavicle. Wilbur Roth was uninjured, nor was his passenger Larry Weber, 10, son of Ivan Weber, Archbold Route 3. The highway patrolman reported that the Leupp car failed to yield the right-of-way to the Roth car at the stop, the former car being struck on the right rear side.
LYDIA (nee Yoder) LEUPP
Lydia Leupp nee Yoder was born August 9, 1873 southeast of Archbold, and passed away Sept. 19, 1950 at Detwiler Memorial Hospital, Wauseon. Death came as a result of injuries suffered in a car accident three days previous.
Her life was spent in quiet and sincere care of her own home and family with willing and kind help for her many friends and neighbors. She was united in marriage with John Leupp and together lived their entire life in the same community southeast of Archbold. Five children graced the home. She was preceded in death by her husband, one infant son, one daughter, one brother and two sisters.
She leaves to mourn two daughters-- Ann (Mrs. Earl Luty) and Helen (Mrs. Earl Ruffer), both of Stryker; one son, Emanuel, who has been living with his mother and was also injured in the accident; seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Also four sisters: Mrs. Lawrence Meyers of Elkhart, Ind., Mrs. Ezra Burkholder of West Unity, Mrs. Simon Klopfenstein and Mrs. George Weber of Archbold; three brothers, Joe of Holland, O., Joel of Defiance, and Elmer of Morenci, Mich., in addition to many other friends.

GEORGE ANTON LINDAU
George Anton Lindau, son of Sophia and Carl Lindau, passed away at Detwiler Memorial Hospital, Wauseon, Ohio, May 30, 1957, at 11:50 a.m., at the age of 82 years, 21 days. Mr. Lindau was born in Adams Township, Defiance County, May 9, 1875. In early infancy he was baptized in Bethlehem Lutheran Church on the Ridge at which place he also later was confirmed. On September 22, 1898 he was united in marriage to Mary Wesche and they made their home on a farm just south of Archbold. This union was blessed with three daughters: Louella, who passed away in 1950, Dorothy, who died in infancy, and Alvera. After the death of Mrs. Lindau, he was again married to Bertha Spiess who also preceded him in death July 2, 1953. He spent his married life in and around Archbold until the last three and one-half years when ill health overtook him and he needed constant attention which necessitated him to be taken to the Blosser Convalescent Home in Wauseon.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harold E. Burkholder, one step-son, Mr. Herbert Spiess, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Carl E. Mehring of Toledo, and many other relatives and friends.

ELI LUGBILL
Eli Lugbill, son of Christian and Martha Lugbill, born April 8, 1894, near Archbold, Ohio, and passed away after a brief illness at the Detwiler Memorial Hospital, Wauseon, Ohio on March 3, 1958, at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 25 days. On October 12, 1915, he was united in marriage with Jennie Burkholder. This union was blessed with five children: Virgie, who died at the age of two years; Martha, Mrs. Maurice King; Leon; Myrtle, Mrs. Earles Wagler; and Doris, Mrs. Dale Britsch, all of Archbold, Ohio.
Eli was of a family of nine children, four of whom, together with his parents, preceded him in death, and four remain: Peter, Mrs. Lydia Rupp, Mrs. Myron Nofziger, arid Sylvanus. There remain to mourn his departure his wife, four children, nineteen grandchildren, four brothers and sisters, and a host of relatives, friends, and business associates.
He was one of the founders of the business firm known as Lugbill Bros. Inc., where he made many valuable contributions to its success throughout the years that are past. His council was good and was sought by many.
In his youth he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and united with the Mennonite Church and remained a faithful and devout member until death. He was one of the charter members of the Zion congregation, and spent the major portion of one year supervising the construction of the building. He got a great deal of satisfaction out of seeing the building completed and much happiness out of sharing in the worship services of the congregation. He was one who was ever willing to share with others the material blessings which God had given to him. He had a deep and abiding concern for the welfare of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed in the home, the church, community, and in the business organization of Lugbill Bros., Inc.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, March 7 from the Short Funeral Home by Rev. H. E. Bertsche, and the Zion Mennonite Church by Rev. Jesse Short, and Rev. P. L. Frey. Burial was made in *Pettsiville Cemetery.

PEACEFUL SLUMBER

MRS. GEORGE McGUFFIN
Mrs. George McGuffin, 70, passed away Monday evening, June 13, 1949, in the home of her daughter Mrs. Sam Treharne, and family, in Pittsburgh, Pa. She had been in failing health for some time and 1 ½ months ago left her home in Pettisville to spend five weeks in the home of her son Kenneth and his family in Toledo. Then she went to Pittsburgh, where her condition grew worse.
The body was brought to Wauseon by train Tuesday evening; funeral services will be held Thursday morning at eleven o'clock in the family home at Pettisville. Interment will be made in Pettisville cemetery. She leaves daughter, son, four grandchildren, one sister. She was the widow of George McGuffin, a well-known physician of this community for many years.

CHRIST J. MILLER
Christ J. Miller, youngest son of John and Barbara (Goldsmith) Miller, was born in France on October 3, 1877. He died at his home near Pettisville, Ohio, on October 7, 1956, aged 79 years and 4 days. At the age of 6 years he with his parents came to this country and located in Fulton County Ohio. He accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and united with the Mennonite church as a young man and remained a faithful member of the West Clinton Congregation.   On December 7, 1899, he was married to Laura Beck, who preceded him in death on March 19, 1955. Their home was blessed with three sons: Lloyd J. and Charles L. both of this community, and Maurice D. who died March 16, 1922. Eva Reynolds was received into the home in 1935, and resided with them since that time.
He enjoyed good health until the last few years and since then was able to be about most of the time until Saturday evening when he was *striken with a heart attack and died about twelve hours later.
He was interested in the cause of Christ and the church, and was as regular in church attendance as health permitted.
He is survived by two sons, Lloyd J. and Charles L., Eva Reynolds, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; one sister Barbara Rees, Houghton Lake, Mich., and many nephews and other relatives and friends.

Oh, sweet release from every fear,
Oh, balm for all my care;
Christ is my Breath, my throbbing Life.

JOHN H. MILLER
John H. Miller, son of Aaron and Mary Spicker Miller was born in Lagrange County, Indiana, September 3, 1864. On September 3, 1949, he had a stroke from which he never fully recovered but suffered from several light strokes later and quietly passed away at his home in Pettisville, Ohio, on June 19, 1950, at the age of 85 years 9 months 16 days. He lived in Lagrange County Ind., until about 19 years of age when he came to Fulton County Ohio where he lived the remainder of his life.
On August 28, 1884, he was married to Leah Short, who departed this life June 26, 1885, leaving one daughter Mary. On March 11, 1886, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Grieser. To this union were born 3 sons and 3 daughters. The oldest daughter, Ida, died at the age of 2 years. His wife Elizabeth died October 18, 1920. On September 16, 1924, he was united in marriage to Fannie Ashliman, who survives him and faithfully cared for him and ministered to him during his lingering illness.
As a young man he accepted Christ as his Savior and united with the Mennonite church of Fulton County, Ohio, and remained a faithful member until death. He maintained an active interest in the church and was a regular in attendance when health permitted. During his illness he often expressed his regret for not being able to assemble with the people of God for worship. He endured his affliction patiently, greatly rejoicing in his Savior.
There remain to mourn his departure his beloved companion, three sons and three daughters, Mary (Mrs. Andrew Short), Gideon, Uriah, Henry, living in the near-by community; Anna at home and Edna (Mrs. Warren Long) of Tiskilwa, Ill.; two stepsons, John and Omar Ashliman; one foster son, Lewis Garretson, who shared the home for 16 years; 36 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; one brother Mose Miller of Kent, Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Garretson of Parsons, Kansas, and Mrs. Fannie Ringler of Goshen, Ind., and a host of relatives and friends. Three grandchildren and one great-grandchild preceded him in death.

WILLARD, 0., May 9-Josie A. Miller, 94, died yesterday in her home here. She was a native of Richmond Township. She was a former schoolteacher and for 60 years was a practical nurse. She was of the Mennonite faith.
Surviving are brothers, Ed Miller, Willard, and Dr. Corwin Miller, Cleveland.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Fink Mortuary with burial in the Mennonite Cemetery, Richmond Township.

Death Claims Long-Time MCC Executive, Churchman

Orie O. Miller, 84, executive secretary emeritus of the Mennonite Central Committee, died Monday evening, Jan. 10 at the Landis Retirement Home near Lancaster, Pa., the Review has been informed by MCC Headquarters at Akron, Pa. Death came after several years of failing health due to Parkinson's disease. He had lived at the retirement home since 1972.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Ephrata (Pa.) Mennonite Church, of which he was a long-time member.
ONE OF THE FOUNDERS of the Mennonite Central Committee in 1920, Miller was known throughout the Mennonite world as the person mainly responsible for its expansion into a world-wide relief and service agency supported by all of the major Mennonite groups in North America as well as the Brethren in Christ Church. A man of multiple talents, Miller made important contributions as an administrator, churchman, educator, mission leader, industrialist, and innovator of a variety of church programs. His MCC and church ministries took him on frequent trips to far places of the world. His active association with the MCC spanned nearly half a century. He was assistant to the MCC secretary from 1921 to 1935, and served as executive secretary for 22 years, from 1935 to 1957. He was associate executive secretary, 1957-1963, and in 1963 he was made a life member.
DURING HIS YEARS as executive secretary he gave leadership to the development of a world-wide program of relief for victims of war, famine and disaster, to resettlement programs for refugees, the initiation and administration of the Civilian Public Service program for conscientious objectors during World War II, and establishment of a mental health program under MCC auspices.
Among the ministries and other organizations which he initiated or helped initiate were the leprosy mission in Paraguay. Operation Doctor in the Congo, Mennonite Economic Development Associates, Mennonite Mental Health Services, Mennonite Mutual Aid. Menno Travel Service, Mennonite indemnity, the Africa Mennonite Conference, and the Council of Mission Board Secretaries.   A NATIVE of Middlebury, Ind., Miller graduated from Goshen College in 1915. For much of his life he was associated with Miller-Hess Shoe Company at Akron, Pa., dividing his time between the business and his church and service involvements. He was a member of the first overseas relief team sent out by the Mennonite Church, serving in the Near East in 1919-1920. From 1920 to 1921 he headed the three-member relief team which the newly formed MCC sent to help the Mennonites in Russia suffering from revolution and famine. While assistant-to the MCC secretary, 1921 to 1935, he was a leader in resettlement of Russian Mennonite immigrants in Canada and, beginning in 1930, in Paraguay and later Uruguay. MILLER PLAYED an important role in higher education developments in the Mennonite Church. A long-time officer of the Eastern Mennonite Board of Missions and Charities, he helped locate the first overseas field of that board in East Africa in 1933-34. Later, through his MCC work, he was closely associated with Mennonite mission developments in many parts of the world.
Miller's first marriage was to Elta Wolf of Akron, Pa. in 1915. She died in 1958. In 1960 he married Mrs. Elta Sensenig, who survives. Also surviving one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Lois) Beach of Doylestown, Pa.; four sons, Albert of Akron, Pa. Daniel of Montevideo, Uruguay, John of Kitchener, Ont., and Robert of Evanston, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

ADAM C. MOHR
Adam C. Mohr, son of Conrad and Anna Knieram Mohr, was born in Pettisville, Ohio, May 9, 1864, and passed away at his home in Ridgeville Township, Henry County, Ohio, on his 84th birthday, anniversary, May 9, 1948. In 1890 he was united in marriage to Suzanna Kutzli and to this union three children were born.
He was a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church and was well known throughout this community, He had a vivid memory of early pioneer days in this community and was often called upon by friends to recall incidents of that time.
He is survived by two sons: Ernest C. and Albert W. both of Archbold, and one daughter, Mrs. Emma L. Smith of Archbold; one brother John of Celina, and two sisters: Mrs. Margaret Gorsuch and Mrs. Hannah Cameron of Wauseon. There are five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife Suzanna; brothers: John, Paul, William, George and Lewis.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at St, John's Evangelical and Reformed church conducted by Rev. N. B. Wierwill. Burial in Pettisville Cemetery.

Samuel Moll,
was born October 4, 1890, near Ridgeville, Ohio, to Adam and Fanny (Baumgartner) Moll, and passed to his reward October 3, 1959, at the age of sixty-nine years. He grew to manhood at the place of his birth and on February 5, 1914 was united in marriage with Miss Esther Studer of Whitehouse, Ohio. In the year of 1915 he with his wife united with the Reformed Mennonite Church at Lauber Hill, and in 1939 by the voice of the Church was chosen to the office of Deacon, in which calling he served the Church faithfully and will be sadly missed by the entire membership.
After their marriage, they lived on a small farm near home about five years, then in the year of 1919 moved to their present home, near Wauseon, They were blessed with six sons and one daughter, all of whom, with his beloved wife survive him and deeply mourn their loss. The children are Alvin of Greenwood, Ind., Harry and Howard of Wauseon, Kenneth of Delta, John of Stanford, Calif., Lavern of Toledo and Mrs. Violet Memmer of Defiance, Ohio. He also leaves to mourn, brothers Lewis of Delta; Frank of Detroit; Harvey of Lake Como, Fla. George and Clarence of Wauseon. Sisters, Mrs. Ida Weber of Bryan; Mrs. Florence Myers of Delta; and Mrs. Helen Ruffer of Archbold; 20 grandchildren; besides many other relatives and friends. He was a loving and dutiful husband and father, and a kind friend : and neighbor. His earnest effort was to "Walk as becometh the Gospel of Christ" "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth; Yea sayeth the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.?
Funeral services, were conducted from the Lauber Hill Reformed Mennonite Church on October 6th. J. H. Fisher of Lancaster, Pa., Emmet Bankert of Valparaiso, Ind., and William J. Rupp, officiating. Interment was made in the Lauber Hill cemetery.

Clara Catherine Myers, 71, passed away Saturday morning at the Vernier Convalescent Home, Archbold, following a long illness. Born in Fulton County, she has been a life-long resident of Wauseon and community. She was a member of the Lauber Hill Reformed Mennonite Church.
Survived by six sons, Jesse and Dale, both of Fayette, Harold of Archbold, Donald and Verlin, both of Wauseon, and Alva of Fayette; 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the Lauber Hill Church, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o?clock, with Rev. William Rupp officiating. Interment was made in the Lauber Hill Cemetery.

GEORGE E. MYERS
George E. Myers was born to Susan and Andrew Myers in Fulton County, Ohio, January 1, 1886, where he grew to manhood and on June 29, 1910, was united in marriage with Clara Saunders whose home was near Elmira. They resided for a time in Wauseon, Ohio, where he was associated with the Wauseon Silo Company, later in partnership with his brother, purchasing a farm near Waldron, Michigan, where they resided for a time and later moving to the Stoltz farm near Zone, later purchasing the farm of their present homesite which is near his old home.
They were blest with six sons, Jesse, Dale, Alva, of Fayette; Harold of Archbold, Donald and Verlyn of Wauseon.
Early in their married life they together became convicted of their need of Divine Guidance for the rearing of their children and for their enlightenment that they might be an example to them, they appealed to Him from whom alone such guidance comes. To this acknowledgment the Eternal King in mercy extended his scepter and made them one with his Holy household, in testimony of which the church administered to them the rite of water baptism in the year 1918, wherein they made vows to be faithful to Him who had called them, to which they together have remained faithful.
He was a loving Father and Husband, tenderly caring for his afflicted wife who with all their children and 13 grandchildren, two brothers, Floyd and Christ; one sister, Mrs. Mary Brehm, remain to mourn their great loss in his passing. He departed this life October 8, 1955, at Wauseon Hospital after a fatal accident on the highway.
Funeral services were conducted from the Lauber Hill Church, Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 11 at 2:00 o?clock, Rev. William Rupp officiating. Interment was made in the Lauber Hill Cemetery.

Dies In Auto Crash
George E. Myers, 69, passed away Saturday afternoon at the Detwiler Hospital as the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident Saturday morning. He was driving alone enroute to his farm north of Wauseon, and failed to make a stop at the intersection of Rt. 20A and Rt. 108. Myers crashed into the center of a large semi truck driven by Willard C. Dewire, 22, Hamilton, Indiana. Dewire was not injured, but Myers, was thrown from his car and he was picked up about 100 feet from the scene of the impact. He was rushed to the hospital, but died of head injuries shortly after his arrival there.
George Myers was a retired farmer and a life-long resident of Fulton County. He was a member of the Lauber Hill Reformed Mennonite Church. He is survived by his wife, Clara, Wauseon; six sons, Jesse Alva and Dale of Fayette; Harold of Archbold; Donald and Verlin of Wauseon; two brothers, Chris Myers of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Floyd Myers of Waldron, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Brehm, Fayette and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the Lauber Hill Church on Tuesday. Rev. William Rupp, officiated. Interment was in the Lauber Hill Cemetery.

Henry Nafziger, son of Jacob and Mary (Rychener) Nafziger, was born near Archbold, Ohio, on March 3, 1876; and departed this life at his home in Archbold on May 13, 1951, at the age of 75 years, 2 months, and 10 days. On January 1, 1903, he was united in marriage to Mary Sauder. Together they shared the joys and sorrows of life for over 48 years. This union was blessed with two sons and one daughter.
In his youth he accepted Christ as his personal Savior, united with the Central Mennonite Church and remained a faithful and diligent member, serving on the building committee when the church house was built, and then church trustee for a number of years. He was a devoted husband, and father, a good provider and much concerned for the Spiritual welfare of his family and of the church.
He always enjoyed good health until a short time before his death. On Saturday afternoon he suffered a heart attack which was not thought to be serious, but on Sunday evening he had another attack which was sudden and fatal.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister one granddaughter, and leaves to mourn his sudden departure: sorrowing companion, two sons; Raymond and Edwin, and daughter, Cora; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers: William H., Charles J.; two sisters: Mrs. Mattie Wyse and Sarah, Mrs. Peter Beck, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Amanda Nafziger, all residing in the immediate community, and a large number of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, May 16, in the Central church in charge of Dan. L. Sommers and P.L. Frey. Burial in Pettisville cemetery.

A faithful father, true and kind,

JOEL C. NAFZIGER
Joel C., son of Christian and Barbara Rupp Nafziger was born near Archbold, O., June 2, 1866. Departed this life in his home in Archbold, Jan. 2,1955 at the age of 88 years 7 months. On Aug. 4, 1889 he was united in marriage with Magdalena Roth, who departed this life, May 13, 1916. This union was blessed with three children: Alfred of Pettisville, O.; Elmer of Archbold and Verna at home, who from youth, assumed the responsibility of her mother, tenderly caring for her aged father in his declining years.
He leaves to mourn his departure, his 3 children, 9 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren, besides a host of relatives and friends. His companion and one grandchild preceded him in death. He was the last one to close the book of a family of six, and has left precious memories.
In his youth he accepted Christ as Saviour and Lord of his life, uniting with the Central Mennonite church, where he was the oldest member, faithfully filling his place until a few months ago, when his body became too weak. He was a kind and loving father, always manifesting the spirit of patience and submission to the will of God, and will be greatly missed by the family, also by the community and church.

?GOD MUST HAVE LOVED HER VERY MUCH?
Sarah Ellen Nafziger, daughter of David and Mary (Short) Neuhouser, was born near Grabill, Ind., Feb. 7, 1898, and passed to her Eternal Reward at the Williams County General Hospital, on the morning of Sept. 30, 1954, at the age of 56 years, 7 months, and 23 days. In her youth she accepted Christ as her personal Savior, united with the Mennonite Church and was a faithful member of the Lockport Congregation at the time of her death. In 1916 she was united in marriage to Clarence Thimlar, who passed away in 1918. One daughter was born to this union. On Dec. 20, 1922, she was united in marriage to Clarence Nafziger of near Archbold, Ohio. She resided in this community until her death. Two sons were born to this union.
Surviving her are, her loving Companion; Mother; daughter, Violet (Mrs. Glen E. Roth), Archbold, O.; sons, Robert of Wauseon, O., and Marvin Lee, of Archbold; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Andrew Miller, Grabill, Ind., and Mrs. Schuyler Grime, West Unity, O.; 4 brothers, Jos. S. and Melvin, Fort, Wayne, Ind.; Monroe and Wayne, Grabill, Ind., and many other relatives and friends.
We rejoice with her in the victory won.

God must have loved her very much,
And we have loved her, too;
We know how many helpful things
Her kind hands found to do;
But till we reach that happy place
Where griefs are all consoled,

MRS. AMOS NEUHAUSER (Marianne RUPP)
Mrs. Amos Neuhauser, 71, wife of Amos Neuhauser, president of the Hoosier Condensed Milk Company, Bluffton Ind., passed away at 6:30 o'clock Wednesday morning, Feb. 18, 1953, at her home at 408 West Wiley Ave. Death was attributed to a heart condition. She was born at Archbold, Ohio, on July 31, 1881, a daughter of Rev. Daniel and Magdalena (Gerber) Rupp. Her marriage to Amos Neuhauser, took place at Archbold on March 10, 1910, in a ceremony performed by her father.
The decedent was a member of the First Methodist Church of Bluffton and the Delphic Circle.
Mrs. Neuhauser had resided in Bluffton for the past 33 years. Previously, she had been a resident at Berne, and Vera Cruz, Ind.
Surviving in addition to the husband are two sons, Maurice of Lafayette, Ind., and Paul of Bluffton; three daughters, Mrs. Luzerne of Weilemann and Mrs. Harold Venis and Mrs. John Flaningan, all of Bluffton; three brothers, Albert, Elmer and Peter, all of Archbold, Ohio; two sisters, Miss Lydia Rupp and Mrs. Priscilla Neuhauser also Of Archbold. 11 grandchildren. Four brothers and a sister are deceased.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 20, at the First Evangelical Reformed Church with Rev. E. E. Kaufman and Rev. Matthew Worthman officiating. Burial at Fairview cemetery.

G. W. Nisely (1964)
G. W. Nisely, 86, Pettisville, died suddenly Tuesday evening, Dec. 1, at the home of his son Lowell at 325 Beech St., Wauseon, following a heart attack. Deceased spent his lifetime in the Archbold- Pettisville community and lived in Pettisville 41 years where for 29 years he owned and operated Nisely Products, having retired in recent years.
Survived by his wife, Alice K.; three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Jess (Beulah) Grimm, Huntertown, Ind.; Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Brand of Ashley, Ind.; Mrs. LeRoy (Lueta) Brand, Kendallville, Ind.; Lewis Nisely, Boca Raton, Fla. and Lowell of Wauseon; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were held from Short Funeral Home, Friday afternoon with Rev. Olan Nofziger officiating. Burial in the Pettisville cemetery.

AMANDUS NOFZIGER
Amandus Nofziger, son of Jacob and Barbara (Wyse) Nofziger, was born near Wauseon, Ohio, Sept. 8, 1890 and passed away at the Wauseon hospital, April 2, 1963. Age 72 years, 6 months, 25 days. He was the youngest of nine children and the last of his immediate family.
On Sept. 11, 1912 he was married to Arminda Nofziger, who preceded him Feb. 7, 196O.
To this union were born five sons and one daughter: Chauncey E., Tarzan, Calif.; Dale A., Archbold, Ohio; Harold S., Pettisville, Ohio; Marguerite, (Mrs. Maurice Zaerr, Archbold, Ohio; Donald J. and Kenneth L., both of Archbold, Ohio.
In his youth he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with the Mennonite church and was a member of the West Clinton congregation where he faithfully attended as long as health permitted. He was greatly interested in his church, his family and the community. Since the passing on of his companion his longing and great desire was to be united with her in the glory world. He often made the statement, "I'll just wait until the Lord comes."
He became ill about four years ago and a few days before his passing suffered a stroke and was taken to the hospital where he slipped away very quietly to be with the Lord and his loved ones. For the past two and one-half years he was very tenderly cared for in the home of his daughter and family.
Those who remain to mourn his departure are five sons and one daughter, twenty-seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a. host of other relatives and friends.

Survived by her husband, Amandus, five sons: Chauncey E., Tarzan, Calif.; Dale A. Archbold; Harold .S. Pettisville; Donald and Kenneth of Archbold; one daughter, Mrs. Maurice Zaerr, Archbold; 25 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Nafziger, Archbold; Mrs. Orval Kauffman, Wauseon; two brothers, Jesse J. Short, Archbold and Raymond, Stryker.

ARMINDA (Short) NOFZIGER
Arminda (Short) Nofziger was born near Archbold, O., Nov. 28, 1889. After a continued illness of several months, on Feb. 7, 1960, she quietly passed away at her home in Pettisville, Ohio and went to be with the Lord, at the age of 70 years two months and ten days. She was the daughter of Simeon and Barbara (Beck) Short, the oldest of a family of five children, and the first to depart this life. Her mother died when she was 16 years of age, at which time Arminda assumed full responsibility for the household duties and care of the family. On Jan. 30, 1908, she was married to Jesse Nofziger who preceded her in death, Oct. 17, 1910. To them was born a son Clifford who died at the age of a few days. On Sept. 11, 1912 she was married to Amandus Nofziger who survives her. To this union were born five sons and one daughter: Chauncey E., of Tarzana, Calif.; Dale A. of Archbold; Harold S. of Pettisville; Marguerite (Mrs. Maurice Zaerr) of Archbold; Donald J. and Kenneth L. of Archbold.
In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Mennonite, Church and was a faithful member of West Clinton. As long as health permitted she was active in the interests of her family, church and. community and by her passing away will be greatly missed by all.
Those who remain to mourn her departure are her loving husband, five sons, one daughter, 25 grandchildren, two brothers, Jesse J. Short of Archbold; Raymond Short of Stryker; two sisters, Dora, (Mrs. Raymond Nafziger), Archbold; Cora, (Mrs. Orval Kauffman), Wauseon and a host of relatives and friends.

Clara Nofziger
Clara Ellen Nofziger, 89, of Archbold, died Wednesday morning at the Fulton County Health Center where she had been a patient one week.
She was born near Archbold and lived in the area her entire life. She worked for the Toledo Edison for over 25 years, before her retirement. She was a member of the Garden Club.
She is survived by two brothers, Robert and Sanford Nofziger both of Archbold; three sisters, Mrs. Mary C. Beaverson of Fayette, Mrs. Edith Leu of Archbold and Fannie Nofziger of Columbus.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Short Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Meyers officiating. Burial will be in the Lauber Hill cemetery.
The family prefers memorials to the cardiac unit of the Fulton County Health Center.
Friends may call at the Short Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Thursday.

ELLA NOFZIGER
Ella Elizabeth, daughter of Jacob and Fannie (Lauber) Bernath, was born April 15, 1884, near Archbold, Ohio and was called from her earthly home in Elmira after an illness of one and a half years on June 9, 1966, at the age of 82, years, 1 month, and 25 days.
On December 24, 1905, she was united in marriage to Harvey E. Nofziger who passed away March 19, 1941.
She leaves to mourn: children -- Clara, at home; Mary Beaverson of Fayette; Edith Leu and her husband, Wilson, of Archbold: Robert and his wife, Mabel, of Fayette: Sanford and his wife, Bernice, of Archbold; and Fannie, of Columbus; ten grandchildren; eleven, great-grandchildren; step-mother, Mrs. Ida Bernath, of Archbold; and of her twelve brothers and sisters, brothers -- Charles, of Stryker, and Jesse, of Delta; and half sisters, Mabel (Mrs. Lloyd Leu) and Florence (Mrs. Ralph Miller), both of Archbold. She was preceded in death by her husband; children, Arthur and   Agnes; grandchildren, Donald Leu, David and Richard Nofziger; and son-in-law, Sam Beaverson.
She was a member of the Lauber Hill Reformed Mennonite Church. Mother?s faith and way of life are expressed by Ida L. Cornett in her poem, "The Father?s Hand,"

While through this changing world below
I would not choose my path to go;
?Tis Father?s hand that leadeth me,
Then O how safe his child must be.
Sometimes we walk in sunshine bright,
Sometimes in darkness of the night:
Sometimes the way I cannot see
But Father?s hand still leadeth me.
Sometimes there seems no way to take,
But Father?s hand a way doth make.
Sometimes I hear Him gently say,
?Come follow me, this is the way.?
Why should I mind the way I go?
His way is best for me, I know
He is my strength, my truth, my way,

Services were held on Sunday, June 12, 1966, at her church with Rev. Emmet Bankert, Valparaiso, Indiana, officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery.

EMMA NOFZIGER
Emma Nofziger, (Goldsmith) daughter of the late Peter and Sophia Goldsmith, was born in Basel, Switzerland, January 31, 1882. Died at the Memorial Hospital, Wauseon, Ohio, on March 22, 1953 at the age of 71 years, 1 month and 22 days. When eight years of age she came with her father to America and spent the remainder of her life in the vicinity of Archbold, Ohio. She was of a family of 16 children, 3 having preceded her in death. On December 10, 1903, she was united in marriage to Peter Roth and together they shared the joys and sorrows of life until March 29, 1925 when her husband was called to be with his Lord.
It was in the early years of their married life when she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour, and was received as a member of the Central Mennonite church remaining a faithful member till God called her home.
This union was blessed with 7 children, Alfred of Onstead, Mich., Freeman, Flossie, Mrs. Ralph Todd, Wilbur, Glen, Harvey, Velma Mrs. Ivan Weber, residing in this vicinity. On November 14, 1929, she was united in marriage to Jacob Nofziger having shared the blessings of life together for 8 years. This union was broken by death on August 5,1937. There preceded her in death her father and mother, husbands, two brothers, and one sister. Remaining to mourn her departure are her 7 children, 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 8 brothers and 4 sisters: (Louise), Mrs. Mott Hill; (Sophia) Mrs. Joe Rashley; John; Jacob; Ernst; Harry; Peter; (Arminda), Mrs. Emil Waldfogel; Jesse; Sam; Edward and (Almeda), Mrs. Alva Weber and a large host of relatives and friends.
While her life was not without afflictions and trials, she was always seen to bear them without complaint. She enjoyed sufficient health to be about her work keeping a home for her son Wilbur and herself, until about two days before her death when she suffered a heart attack and contracted pneumonia, which caused her death.
She was always willing to make every sacrifice for the comfort of her family and her deep devotion and concern for the spiritual welfare of her children will always be remembered. We humbly submit to the Will of God who does all things well.

And still her silent ministry
Within my heart hath place,
As when on earth she walked with me,
And met me face to face.
Her life is forever mine:
What she to me has been
Hath left henceforth its seal and sign
Engraven deep within.

JOHN J. NOFZIGER*
John J. *Nofzinger son of John S. and Mary (Liechty) Nofzinger was born August 20, 1901 near Archbold, O. Departed this life June 16, 1955, at the Detwiler Memorial Hospital, Wauseon, O. after a few hours of suffering due to Coronary Thrombosis, at the age of 53 years, 9 months and 26 days. On Dec. 1st, 1921 he was united in marriage with Mary Beck. This union was blessed with one daughter Evelyn (Mrs. Dale Short). He leaves to mourn his departure his sorrowing companion; one daughter; three grandchildren; Verle, Lee and Jane; one brother, William of Wayland, Ia., one sister, Ida (Mrs. Moses Nofziger) of Wauseon, O., besides a host of relatives and friends. There preceded him in death, his parents; one sister Carrie, one brother Clarence J. who passed away May 15, 1953.
All of his life was lived in the vicinity of Archbold and for 28 years John and Clarence had been associated in business together. After Clarence's death he continued the business in partnership with his son-in-law, Dale Short and nephew, Edward Baus. In his youth he accepted Christ as his Saviour, and united with the Central Mennonite Church, and remained a member until his death. He was a kind and loving husband and father, and had a deep concern for the family. He will be greatly missed in the home, his place of business, and church where his place was seldom vacant.

?God took you away so suddenly
The shock was so hard to stand,
But He wanted you in His garden
In a much more beautiful land
God didn't give us a warning,
That He was taking you away,
For He knew we all loved you dearly
And we?d beg Him to let you stay.?

JONATHAN G. NOFZIGER
Jonathan G. Nofziger, son of Christ and Elizabeth (Gingerich) Nofziger, was born March 30, 1857, at Pettisville, Ohio, passed away Sunday morning, June 18, 1950, at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 18 days. He was united in marriage to Jacibena Augsburger, of Trenton, Ohio on December 14, 1880. She passed away June 16, 1924. This union was blessed with two sons and three daughters. Simon A. of Stuttgart, Arkansas, Harvey, of Wauseon, Miss Jennie who resides at home, Ellen (Mrs. John Rich) and Ida, (Mrs. John Wyse) all of Archbold, Ohio. He leaves to mourn his departure, his five children, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was of a family of 12, of whom 2 survives. Mrs. Sam Yoder of Pomona, California and one brother Dan, of Pettisville, Ohio. Also many relatives and friends.
He accepted Christ as his Saviour, and was baptized, uniting with the Mennonite Church at Trenton, Ohio in 1872, and later transferred his membership with the Central Mennonite Church at Archbold, Ohio, remaining faithful. His place in church seldom being vacant, having attended both morning and evening services the Sunday before his death.
He left Pettisville at the age of 20 years and lived in Trenton, Ohio for 9 years; then he and his family moved to Stuttgart, Arkansas, where he lived until 1920. Then he moved to Archbold, where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a devoted husband arid kind father, a good neighbor, and will be greatly missed in the home, and by all who knew him.
The funeral was held at the Central Mennonite Church, June 21, with Revs. Jesse Short, Roy Sauder, Dan Sommers and Henry Wyse officiating. Pallbearers were the grandsons: Kenneth and Harold Nofziger of Wauseon; Lloyd Nofziger of Stuttgart, Arkansas; Lester: and Clarence Rich, and Marlin Wyse. Interment in the Pettisville Cemetery.

For that home beyond the skies;
But we, long again - to meet thee,
On the realms of Paradise."

LEVI NOFZIGER
Levi, son of David and Barbara Nofziger, was born near Archbold, Ohio, Feb. 27, 1870, and departed this life in his home in Archbold, April 1, 1954, after a few hours of illness due to a heart attack, at the age of 84 years, 1 months, and 4 days. On Dec. 8, 1892, he was united in marriage with Lizzie Riegsecker, sharing life?s joys and sorrows until Dec. 15, 1939, when his companion passed away. To this union were born four sons and two daughters: William, of Archbold; Ira, of Wauseon, Ohio; Cora (Mrs. Menno Maust), and Herma (Mrs. Oscar Gautsche); both of Archbold; Floyd, of Wauseon, and Jesse, of Goshen, Ind. His passing away is mourned by his children, especially by his daughter Cora who for the last 31 years, after the death of her husband, cared for her parents; also 23 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Lizzie (Mrs. Simeon Grieser), Emma (Mrs. Solomon Short) and Sarah, all of this vicinity, besides a host of relatives and a wide circle of friends which he won by his friendly disposition. There preceded him in death his companion, one grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Mrs. Jacob Short), and Katie (Mrs. Samuel Sauder).
In his youth he accepted Christ as his Personal Saviour, uniting with Central Mennonite Church, where he remained faithful. His place was seldom vacant, being present last Sunday. He was a kind and loving Father, having deep concern for the spiritual welfare of his family.

?Softly and peacefully, Father passed away,
From earth to Heaven to make his stay,
Long and patiently he waited for the call,
Now in Heaven he is waiting for us all.
?His room empty, all is still,
His place is vacant, it was God?s will.

MRS. SAM. H. NOFZIGER
Mrs. Sam. H. Nofziger, 69, died Tuesday evening, Dec. 2, in her home north of Pettisville after ailing for about ten days. Surviving are husband, son Howard, four grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were tentative for Saturday afternoon.

WILLARD, O., July 2-- Mrs. Augusta Mae Pittenger, 80, Willard, died yesterday in Betty's Rest Home, Clyde. She was a lifelong resident of this community and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Pittenger is survived by a son, Harry; daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Zellner and Mrs. Edward Stover; brother, Clyde Robinson, all of Willard; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at. 2 p.m. Monday in the Fink Mortuary. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

JOHN HENRY PLETTNER
John H. Plettner, Waterloo, Neb., passed away at 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 1963, at Dodge County Community Hospital in Fremont, Neb. He had reached the age of 72 years, 5 months and 23 days.   John was born Feb. 5, 1891 in Fulton County, Ohio, the son of Andrew and Katherine Weckesser Plettner. In 1913 he came to Exeter, Neb., to make his home. He was united in marriage to Nellie A. Miller on Dec. 2, 1914 at Exeter, Nebr., where they resided for 43 years. He farmed for *12s years, then moved to Exeter where he started a poultry hatchery. In recent years he has resided in the Waterloo vicinity where he was a partner with his two sons in the broiler business and farming, which he loved. He was an honest, hardworking, man of the soil. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the Reformed Mennonite Church.
Surviving besides his wife, Nellie, are two daughters, Mrs. Rex (Betty) Jurgensen of Cordova, Neb.; Mrs. Curtis (Eyvonne) Clayton of Red Bluff, Calif.; four sons; Karl C. and Glen A. Plettner both of Valley; John Jr. and Joel A. Plettner of Waterloo; two sons-in-law and four daughters-in-law; one sister, Mrs. Emmett Douglas of Butte, Montana; one brother, Elmer Plettner of Sutton, Neb., and eighteen grandchildren. He was *preceeded in death by his parents, three sisters and one granddaughter.
Funeral services for Mr. Plettner were conducted from the Swanson Funeral Home in Valley, Nebr. on Sunday, Aug. 4, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Emmitt Bankert, Valparaiso, Ind. conducted the services and graveside services were conducted by Rev. Wm. Rupp, Archbold, O. Interment was in the Prospect Hill cemetery, Elkhorn, Nebraska. Attending from Archbold were: Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Graber, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Rupp, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ruger, Mr. and Mrs. Emery Sigg and Mr. and Mrs. Menno Rupp.

Charles Bennett Pontius, 84, died Friday afternoon at his home 314 W. Oak St., Wauseon, following a long illness. A life long resident of Fulton County, Mr. Pontius was a retired farmer and railroader. A Spanish-American War Veteran, he was a member of the Lauber Hill Reformed *Menninite Church.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Viola Bernath and Mrs. Mae Fouty of Delta, Mrs. Mary Hurst of Toledo, Mrs. Bertha Gorsuch, of Wauseon and Mrs. Grace Mohr of Swanton; two sons Orville of Morenci, Mich., and Kenneth of Wauseon; one sister Mrs. Lottie Roberts of Wauseon; 21 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the Lauber Hill Reformed Mennonite Church, Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. William Rupp officiating. Interment was made in the Lauber Hill Cemetery.

Nancy (Rychener) Rashley
MRS. NANCY RASHLEY
Nancy (Rychener) Rashley was born Oct. 7, 1874 in German Township, Fulton County, Ohio and passed from this life June 14, 1968, in her home, after a long illness. She was the first child of Daniel and Mary (Eckley) Rychener. She was married to John M. Rashley on July 22, 1894. To this union were born seven children, five of whom survive to mourn her departure with her husband, John. She united with the Reformed Mennonite Church in 1913 and remained faithful to her vows.
She was a patient, kind arid loving wife and mother, and the welfare of her family was uppermost in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two sisters and two children, an infant daughter and a son, Edwin, who died in 1917. She leaves to cherish her memory, her aged companion, with whom she shared lifes joys and sorrows together for nearly 74 years, five children, three sons and two daughters, Vern and Dan of Wauseon; John Jr. of Tucson, Arizona; Mrs. Leva Shaffer of Wauseon and Mrs. Bertha Ernst of Delta; twelve grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.

John M. Rashley, 101, of RD 2 Wauseon, one of Fulton County's oldest residents, died Sunday evening in his York township home east of Wauseon. He was born in German township and moved into York township. He was the father of the late County Commissioner Vern Rashley. He was a member of the Lauber Hill Reformed Mennonite Church.
He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Leva Shaffer and Dan Rashley, both of Wauseon, Mrs. Bertha Ernst, of Delta, and John Rashley, Jr. of Tucson, Arizona; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in the Lauber Hill Reformed Mennonite Church with the Rev. Henry Fisher officiating and the interment will be in the Lauber Hill Cemetery.
JOHN M. RASHLEY
John M. Rashley was born Sept. 4, 1870 in German Township, Fulton County, Ohio and passed from this life, July 16, 1972 at his home for the past 75 years in York Township. He was the son of Joel and Susan (Yost) Rashley. He was married to Nancy Rychener July 22; 1894. To this union were born seven children, four of whom survive to mourn his departure.
He united with the Reformed Mennonite Church in 1902 and remained faithful to his vows. He was a kind and patient father, his first desire was to serve the Lord, next the welfare of his family was uppermost in his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one brother, three sisters and three children: two sons, Vern, who died in 1971; Edwin, who died in 1917 and an infant daughter. He leaves to cherish his memory four children: Dan of Wauseon, John, Jr. of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Leva Shaffer of Wauseon and Mrs. Bertha Ernst of Delta; twelve grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held, Wednesday, July 19, 1972 at 3:30 p.m. in the Lauber Hill Reformed Mennonite Church with the Rev. Henry Fisher officiating. The burial was in the Lauber Hill Cemetery.

JAMES REYNOLDS
James Allen Reynolds, son of Albert and Elsie (Rupp) Reynolds, was born October 20, 1938, near Pettisville Ohio, and passed away Sept. 6, 1956. Being the oldest of 7 children, he could share many happy and pleasant experiences with his younger brothers and sisters and aged grandfather, Simon Rupp, who shared his home with the family all his life. By the joys and sorrows of life, grandfather and grandchildren were drawn very close together. However, God saw fit to break this close family tie by allowing a tragic accident to take the life of Jim at the age of 17 years, 10 months and 17 days. His death came as a result of a motorcycle accident in which he and one of his neighbor chums were involved near Continental, Ohio, where they had gone to visit some of their boy friends. James was taken in an unconscious condition to Defiance Hospital, and remained in that condition for several hours until he passed on to be with his Maker.
James accepted Christ as his personal Savior in his tender years and was received by baptism into the West Clinton Mennonite Church. He was a quiet and reserved boy and his agreeable nature helped him win many friends in his employment which put him in contact with many people.
Remaining to mourn their tragic loss are his grief stricken parents; three brothers, Roger, Ronald and Jerry; three sisters, Shirley, Marlene and Charlene, and Grandpa Rupp, besides many other relatives and friends. Although so sadly missed by loved ones, yet his sudden passing has served to remind all who knew him that our future rests with God and how essential it is that we make our peace with Him before He calls. By God?s grace we will bow down in submission and say, ?Thy will be done.?

?No one heard the footsteps of the angel drawing near,
Who took from earth to heaven the one we loved so dear;
No one knows the silent heartache, only we who lost can tell,
Of the grief that?s borne in silence for the one we loved so well.
?For him the trials of life are done
His task is over now;

Clyde W. Rice
Clyde W. Rice', 57, RR5, Wauseon, died suddenly Friday afternoon at his home. He had been picking corn and was returning to his - home when he suffered a fatal heart attack. Mr. Rice also worked as a floor mechanic laying floor covering for many years, He was a veteran of World War II.
Survived by his wife, Esther; two sons, Stephen of Gainesville, Fla. and Andrew of Tiffin, Oh.; three daughters, Margaret of Las Vegas, Nev., and Rachel of Bowling Green and Barbara, at home; two brothers; Milton and Howard of Archbold and sister, Mrs. Lester (Thelma) Austermiller of West Unity.
Services were held at St. John's United Church of Christ on Monday, March 3 at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Gary R. Hodges. Burial in the Archbold Cemetery, Grisier's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

DOUGLAS LEE RICH
Douglas Lee Rich was born May 26, 1942, the first child of Clarence and Wanda Rich of *Archbod, O. He died instantly on October 22, 1956 of injuries resulting from being dragged through the woods by his horse. He enjoyed many hours riding and training the horse in the past several years. He recently received his novice license for sending and receiving code. Doug was a member of the freshman class and a participant in the concert and marching band at *Archbod high school. He was active in the Sunday school program at Zion Mennonite church.
Other members of Doug's immediate family are Phillip, 9, Mary Ellen, 6 and Karen, 3. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Sylvanus Lugbill, Archbold and Mr. and Mrs. John Rich, deceased.
Services were held at the Zion Mennonite church on October 25, 1956 in charge of Rev. P. L. Frey.

Theophilus Riegsecker
Frieda Goldsmith Riegsecker
Theophilus Riegsecker, son of Christian and Anna Riegsecker, was born near Archbold, Ohio on June 6, 1864, and died July 14, 1942 at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 18 days.
And his companion, Frieda (Goldsmith) Riegsecker, daughter of Peter and Sophia Goldsmith, was born near Basil, Switzerland on May 27, 1879, and died July 13, 1942, only 20 hours before her husband, at the age of 63 years, 1 month, and 16 days. On Jan. 10, 1899, they were united in marriage and this union was blessed with 8 sons ,and 1 daughter. One son Samuel and 4 grandchildren preceded them in death. Together they leave to mourn their loss: seven sons: Harmon of Wauseon, Ohio; Lewis of Archbold, Ohio; Edward, Clarence, Benjamin, Theophilus jr., Glen; and one daughter Carrie (Mrs. Amos Mast), all of Fayette, Ohio; 24 grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
Theophilus was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters. He leaves one brother Christian and one sister Mary Short, both of Archbold, O.
Frieda was also preceded in death by her parents, two half-brothers, and leaves one brother, John of Toledo, Ohio, and three sisters: Louise (Mrs. Mott Hill) of Wauseon, Ohio; Mrs. Emma Nofziger of Archbold; Sophia (Mrs. Joseph Rashley) of Delta, Ohio; her stepmother, Mrs. Alberta Goldsmith, seven half-brothers: Jacob of Fayette, Ohio; Ernest, Harry, Peter, Jesse, Samuel, Edwards, and two half sisters: Arminda (Mrs. Amiel Waldvogel) and Almeda (Mrs. Alva Weber) all of Wauseon, Ohio.
For some time their health had been failing, both suffering from arterial *scherodis, and on July 2, Theophilus suffered a stroke of paralysis after which he steadily declined until he passed away. Frieda, who was alone with her husband when he suffered the stroke, was greatly shocked, which brought about coronary failure resulting in her death.
Soon after their marriage they accepted Christ as their Saviour and united with the Mennonite church near Archbold, Ohio, of which they were members at the time of their death.   The family is greatly shocked and keenly feel their loss, but are confident that it is their Eternal gain.

Though on Earth you are no more;
Still in memory you are with us.
As you always were before.

Growing day by day more frail;
Till God in his Heavenly wisdom

Rites Friday for Alta Robinson
Mrs. Alta M. Robinson. 72, died suddenly Tuesday morning, at the home of Phillip Laver, in Pettisville, where she was employed.
A lifelong resident of Pettisville, Mrs. Robinson was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Wauseon.
Surviving are a son Harold Emmons, of Lima; one brother, Alfred Smith of Rochester, New York; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Edgar Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Pettisville Cemetery.

ELDEN E. ROTH
Elden E. Roth, son of Alva and Martha (Seidner) Roth, was born on June 25, 1915 near Wauseon, Ohio, and passed from this life on January 18, 1974 in Queens Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii, following surgery for a back injury. His age was 58 years, 6 months and 23 days. As a young man be was baptized on confession of faith, and became a member of the Mennonite Church where he remained faithful until death. On February 23,1937 Elden was united in marriage to Emma Stamm. Together they toiled and shared the joys of life for over 36 years. Their home was blessed with five sons.
They farmed for eight years in the Archbold area, then purchased a farm near Stryker, Ohio. Besides farming he was an electrical contractor and founded the business firm by the name of Elden Roth, Electric Company. His five sons have all followed in his footsteps by being in the electrical field.
After Elden felt the call of the Lord to help in the spread of the Gospel in the 50th state, Elden, Emma and two sons, Carl and Rollin, moved to Hawaii in i962. After many years of planning, the H. O. V. Evangelical Community Church was started in February 1972. Being erected by donated labor and contributions, he himself labored many hours on the church besides holding down a full time electrical job. Before the church was completed, he was called to be with the Lord. His funeral services were held in this new structure filled with an overflow crowd which included his sons and their wives.
He leaves to remember him: his loving wife, Emma; five sons: Alva and his wife Joyce of Archbold; Wayne and his wife Mary Alice of Stryker; Lowell and his wife Betty of Archbold; Carl of Archbold; Rollin of Captain Cook, Hawaii; eleven grandchildren; nieces and neighbors and many friends.
My Testimony
Once my heart was tossed with sin. No room for Jesus there within; I loved the world and all its mirth; My treasures only on this earth. Then Jesus came along one day and found me on the ?broad highway?; He beckoned me to come to Him, said He would free me from all sin. I shook my head and went astray boasting I?d turned Him away; He did not scorn as he left me there but hung His head in anxious prayer. At last my prayer was crushed with grief ? to Christ I came to find relief; He pardoned my every wayward sin then entered my soul to reign within, Now I am free, and on my way to my Heavenly Home and Endless Day! Joseph Roth
Joseph Roth son of Nicholas and Mary Roth was born near Stryker, Ohio, June 3, 1895, and departed from this life at the Wauseon hospital, Wauseon, Ohio, July 9, 1952 at the age of 57 years, one month and 6 days. Death came after a brief illness due to a heart condition and his sudden passing was strongly felt in the community. On January 18, 1921, he was united in marriage with Sarah Short who *preceeded him in death December 13, 1950. Born to this union were six children: Vera (who died in infancy); Verda of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Clela, Dorwin, and Herbert at home; and Janice (Mrs. Joe Freyenberger) of Wayland, Iowa. Also left to *morn their loss are two brothers, Daniel of Stryker, and John of Archbold, and six sisters, Mrs. Barbara Crossgrove, Archbold, and Lydia, *Elizebeth, Katie, Magdalene and Fanny at home near Stryker. Two other sisters also *proceeded him in death.
Having confessed Christ as his personal Savior, he united with the Mennonite Church where he still retained his membership at the time of death. In many ways life seemed to present problems through his lifetime but he seemed to be able to meet them with courage and even shortly before death still expressed the hope he had in Christ. For this hope we feel confident his eternal future is that of joy. He was respected by his neighbors and loved by his children who will sadly miss him in the home.

MRS. JOSEPH N. ROTH, (SARAH SHORT ROTH)
Mrs. Joseph N. Roth, 56, died in Wauseon hospital, Wednesday morning, Dec. 13, of burns received while doing baking at her farm home west of Archbold, Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Roth used a piece of paper to wipe up some grease when a kettle of lard boiled over.
As she threw the paper into the stove, the flames flared up, igniting her clothing.
Mrs. Roth ran to the phone, summoned a neighbor, Mrs. William Leupp, who came to aid, finding Mrs. Roth?s clothing nearly burned off.
Mrs. Roth was taken to the Wauseon Hospital in Short?s ambulance. Mrs. Roth was alone in the house when the accident occurred.
Funeral services were held at the Central Mennonite church Saturday morning, conducted by Revs. Simon Stuckey, Ray Sauder and Wyse Graber, Interment in Lockport cemetery.
Surviving are husband, three daughters: Verda, Ft. Wayne, Clella and Janice, Archbold; two sons: Dorwin and Herbert; mother, Mrs. Nancy Short, Stryker sisters: Mrs. Freeman Aeschliman, Mrs. Raymond Short, Miss Martha Short all of Stryker; brother, Maurice Short, West Unity.
SARAH SHORT ROTH
Sarah Short Roth, daughter of Christ S. and Nancy Short, was born near Stryker, Ohio, June 6, 1894 and departed this life Dec. 13, 1950, aged 56 years, 6 months, and 7 days. Death came in the form of a tragedy when fire in the home caused her to receive severe burns which proved fatal the following morning. On Jan. 18, 1921, she was united in marriage to Joseph Roth, and to this union were born six children, one of whom preceded her in death. Her sudden departure leaves to mourn, her sorrowing husband, two sons, Dorwin and Herbert at home, three daughters, Verda of Ft. Wayne, Ind. Clela at home and Janice, who is attending school at Goshen; Indiana. Also left to mourn are her aged mother (Mrs. Nancy Short of Stryker, Ohio), three sisters, Mrs. Freeman Aschliman and Martha, also of Stryker, Mrs. Raymond Short of Archbold, Ohio, and one brother, Maurice, of West Unity, Ohio, besides many other relatives and friends. In her youth she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Mennonite Church and was a faithful member until her death. She was a loving wife and mother, much concerned about her family and her careful Christian teaching will be long remembered by the children.

*Russell W. Rowe, 72, Ridgeville Corners, died in his sleep at his home early Sunday.
Deceased spent his lifetime in the Ridgeville community. He was a World War I veteran, member American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. Survived by his wife, Minnie; one son, John, Lakewood; one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Naveau, Napoleon; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mae Nagel, Defiance.
Services, Wednesday, 2 p.m., in Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon conducted by Rev. N. B. Wierwill, St. John's United Church of Christ, Archbold. Burial in Locust Grove cemetery. Military service conducted by Ward L. Adams Post 454, American Legion.

AMOS RUFENACHT
Amos, Son of John and Barbara Rufenacht, was born near Archbold, Ohio, Dec. 23, 1873, and died March 26, 1954, at the age of 80 years, 3 months, and 3 days. On Nov. 30, 1899, he was united in marriage to Lizzie Short. They shared with joy the common adventures of life until this union was broken by the death of his wife on March 25, 1943, she preceding him by 11 years and 1 day.
This union was blessed by the birth of four children: Glen, Jesse, Mary and Ruth. In his younger years he accepted Jesus Christ by faith as his personal Saviour and Lord, and united with the Central Mennonite church and abode in this faith and union until death. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, four brothers and one daughter Ruth. There remain to mourn his departure: two sons, one daughter, all residing near Archbold, Ohio; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. After the death of Mother, Mary remained with him and faithfully cared for him until his death, which came after a lingering illness of about two years duration. He was a faithful and devoted father and will be greatly missed by his family and all others who knew him.
Funeral services were held at the home and at the Central Mennonite Church, March 30, 1954, conducted by P. L. Frey, Jesse Short and Henry Wyse. Interment in Pettisville Cemetery.

ELVERDA L. RUFENACHT
Elverda Lorene Nofziger, daughter of Moses and Ida Nofziger was born near Wauseon, Ohio. November 3, 1922, passed away June 16, 1954, at the age of 31 years, 7 months and 13 days.
She had suffered from Lymphatic *Lukemia for over 6 months, spending a number of weeks at the Wauseon hospital and at the Simpson Memorial hospital at Ann Arbor, Michigan where she passed on to be with the Lord.   She became a Christian in her early youth and was baptized and united in marriage to Maynard Rufenacht with whom she shared life?s joys and sorrows for a little over eight years. They were blest of the Lord with three children, 1 daughter, Jean Kay, 2 sons, Jimmy Lee and Corwin Dale.   She is survived by her devoted companion, her three children, parents, Mr. and Mrs. Moses Nofziger, 3 brothers, Clifford, Wayne and Daryl of Wauseon, 3 sisters Kathryn (Mrs. Glenford Short) of Archbold, Ohio, Ilva (Mrs. Chauncey Grieser) of Wellston, Ohio, and Bernice of Wauseon, Ohio, besides many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one brother.
Her *afffliction came upon her very suddenly and at times suffered greatly yet she bore it patiently by the grace given her of God. All that medical science and loving hands could do for her could not avail and the Lord took her out of her suffering and gave her rest. Her radiant personality won her a warm place in many hearts and a host of friends. Her Christian testimony was a challenge to all who came in contact with her and caused many to think seriously of life and eternity. She was a devoted companion, a loving mother, a respected neighbor and friend to all who knew her, and will be greatly missed in the home, the church and the community.

So silently her soul did go
As falls the snowflakes on the snow.
So quietly her gentle breath
Gave up her body unto death.
So sure her spirit went, so strong,
We wished that we might go along.

Gideon Ruger, 94 taken by death
Gideon W. Ruger, 94, Archbold, died Thursday morning at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold where he had resided the past eight years since his health began failing. He was born near Archbold, living his entire lifetime in this area. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Reformed Mennonite Church ? Lauber Hill.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Willard (Ann) Gearig, Mrs. Wallace (Catherine) Collamore, both of Archbold and Mrs. Nelles (Pearl) Roth of Wauseon, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday at the Reformed Mennonite Church - Lauber Hill with Rev. Robert Meyer and Rev. Earl Beaverson officiating. Interment was in Lauber Hill Cemetery.

Alta (Merillat) Rupp

Mrs. Alta Rupp, 57, Defiance, died Sunday, Sept. 17 at Toledo Hospital of injuries received in an auto accident Aug. 20. Her husband the late Chris. Rupp injured in the same accident, preceded her in death two weeks ago. Deceased spent her lifetime in the Archbold community and in Defiance. Survived by four daughters: Mrs. Denver (Ilene) Rupp, Stryker; Mrs. Gerald (Edith) Mobley, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Martin, Defiance and Sharon at home; six grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Ted Warner, Napoleon; Mrs. Orville Sheffer, Wauseon; Mrs. William Bonnell, Sand Creek, Mich.; Mrs. George Hayes, and Mrs. Howard Grieser, Wauseon; Mrs. Raleigh Conrad, Addison, Mich.; five brothers, Walter Merillat, Bryan; Vern Merillat, Mt. Vernon; Francis Merillat, Wauseon; Orville Merillat, Adrian and Kenneth Merillat, Lambertville, Mich. Services will be held Wednesday, Sept 20, 2 p.m., at Evangelical Mennonite church, Rev. H. E. Bertsche, officiating. Burial in Pettisville cemetery. Body will be removed to church from Grisier's at noon, Wednesday.

Chris. E. Rupp Dies From Crash Injuries (Sept. 3, 1961)
Chris E. Rupp, 60, Defiance, died Sunday evening at Toledo hospital from injuries received in an auto-truck crash Aug. 20, on U.S. 20 and Rt. 295. His wife, Alta, was the only other occupant at the time of the accident and is at Toledo hospital with broken pelvis and arm fractured in three places. She will have to undergo surgery on her arm before she can be released. Mr. Rupp was born in West Unity, and with his wife lived in Defiance 10 years. He is survived by his wife, Alta, four daughters: Mrs. Denver (Ilene) Rupp, Stryker; Mrs. Gerald (Edith) Mobley, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Martin, Defiance; and Sharon, at home; six grandchildren; four brothers, Levi E., Fayette; Earl E. Pioneer; Reuben E., Bryan; Glenn E. Archbold.
Services were held at the Evangelical Mennonite Church, Wednesday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. H. E. Bertsche. Interment in Pettisville cemetery.

AMANDA (Wyse) RUPP
Amanda Rupp, daughter of Christian J. and Magdalena Wyse was born near Archbold, Ohio, September 18,1884 and departed this life at Detwiler Memorial hospital, Wauseon, Ohio, March 6, 1953. Age 68 years, 5 months and 21 days. At an early age she accepted Christ as her Savior and united with the Mennonite Church remaining faithful until the end. She was united in marriage to Daniel L. Rupp, July 3, 1902 and to this union nine children were born. Emerson who preceded her in death; Mrs. Milton Schantz, Archbold, O.; Ralph W. Pettisville, O., Alfred, Wauseon, O.; Mrs. Wildon Stubbins, Morenci, Mich.; Mrs. Kenneth Bachman, Fayette, O.; Mrs. Oakley Short, Archbold, O.; Virgil, Wauseon, O.; and Mrs. Denver Bachman, Wauseon, O. There is to mourn her departure: husband; 8 children; two brothers: William, Sarasota, Fla., Dan. E., Archbold, O.; and three sisters: Mrs. Ezra Short, Archbold, O.; Mrs. L. B. Frey, Pettisville, O.; Mrs. Lewis Britsch of Archbold, O.; 23 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Betty -
As a little girl I remember when
You?d pull your toys out from the den
We'd play for awhile and then
We'd swing on the porch till maybe ten
Your time you was always willing to lend
It always seemed you liked to be teased
Sometimes you wouldn't seem too pleased
But after everything was all ceased
It was a smile on your face that you'd release.
A warm "hello? to all you'd greet
You'd always remember everyone you'd meet
We did not always understand your beat
But in everyone's heart, you were always neat.
To Fairlawn Haven, one day you came to stay
For you, this was a brand new-way
Quadco became part of your day

EDWARD RUPP
Edward Rupp, born near Archbold, Ohio, Sept. 27, 1879, was called to his Eternal Home in the early morning of Dee. 9,1950 at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 12 days. Death occurred after a prolonged illness which he endured with godly patience. His entire life was lived in the vicinity of Archbold. Beginning his early career on the farm, he soon entered into the Furniture and Undertaking business from which ill health caused him to retire about five years ago. Retirement did not prohibit him from doing worthwhile things except as he was limited by failing strength. Possessed of determination and courage that was gladly sacrificial, he carefully exercised his sincere, quiet disposition for the good of those he knew. His public and private life was more often lived than spoken. We know him as one who spoke softly and carefully, sympathized profoundly, helped and lead willingly, always coveting approval without favor. Early in life he received Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour, was baptized and became a member of the Evangelical Mennonite Church of Archbold, remaining faithful unto death. 'During his membership he served in many offices of the church including chairman of the building committee responsible for the building of the present structure. He leaves to mourn: one daughter, Kathryn (Mrs. Reuben Short); three granddaughters -- Karen, Rhoda, and Ann; three brothers -- Albert, Elmer and Peter, all of Archbold; three sisters ? Marian (Mrs. Amos Neuhauser) of Bluffton Ind., Mrs. Priscilla Neuhauser and Lydia Rupp of Archbold besides many other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his wife, one son, one sister, and three half-brothers.
When the body is afflicted,
And your work you cannot do,
Just remember through each trial
That the Lord takes care of you.
Though in body you may suffer,
That you almost may despair,
If you ask the blessed Saviour,
Sufficient grace to you He'll share.
So in sunshine or in shadows,
In your joys or in your care,

It is difficult to express adequate thanks and appreciation to God and man for the kindness shown during the illness, death, and burial of father. Edward Rupp Rites Monday
Edward Rupp, 71, died at his home in Archbold, Saturday morning after being ill for the past 10 weeks. Funeral services were held at the Evangelical Mennonite Church, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. E. Bertsche, pastor. Burial in the Rupp cemetery. Survived by his daughter, Mrs. Reuben Short, three grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Amos Neuhauser, Bluffton, Ind., Mrs. Priscilla Neuhauser, and Lydia Rupp of Archbold; three brothers: Albert, Elmer and Peter. For many years Edward Rupp was active in Archbold's business community, operating with his brothers, the Rupp Furniture & Undertaking Co. Twenty years ago he disposed of his interests in the Undertaking business and retained his interest in the furniture business until about four years ago when he retired. He was interested in Rupp's Archbold Hatchery and similar enterprises in Wauseon and other communities, a number of year ago. He served as a member of the village council and was active in civic community and church affairs and was widely known having many friends in this and adjoining communities. His kindly disposition and ability to make friends proved a great asset in his desire to help develop Archbold and community. He was a son of the late Rev. Dan Rupp who was pastor of the Mennonite church for many years. Edward Rupp spent his entire lifetime in this community.

Elizabeth B. Rupp
Mrs. Elizabeth B. Rupp, 89, RR1, Archbold, died early Tuesday morning at the Fulton County Health Center where she was a patient one week. She had resided at Northwest Care Center, Wauseon, April 1-June 1, when she moved to Fairlawn Haven. Born near Lansdale, Pa., she lived in the Archbold area 67 years and was the widow of the late Rev. Wm. J. Rupp, minister of Reformed Mennonite Church, Lauber Hill, for many years.
Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Fern) Lauber and Betty Rupp, both of Archbold; four sons, John H. Rupp of Fayette; Ervin W. Rupp of Archbold; Vernon Rupp and William J. Rupp, both of West Unity; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and one brother, Harry Godshall of Lansdale, Pa.
Services will be held Friday, Sept. 16 at 2:30 p.m. at Reformed Mennonite Church-Lauber Hill conducted by Rev. Robert Meyers. Burial in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call at Short Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Maurice M. Rupp Services Tuesday
Maurice M. Rupp, 55, 13105 Ravine Trail, Ft. Wayne, Ind., died unexpectedly of a heart attack, Saturday, April 27 while addressing the Gideon International Convention at Little Rock, Arkansas.
Deceased spent his youth in Archbold, graduated from High School in 1924, became associated with Brotherhood Mutual Life Insurance Co., when organized in 1939, was one of founders and became president in 1957. He was president of Indiana Security Investment Corp., Central Agency Co., Underwriters Investment Corp., Rose Garden Manor, Inc., and also co-owner of R&M Holding Co., and Rupp Investment Co. He was secretary of Ft. Wayne Bible College and active in or a director of Winona Lake *Christan Assembly; 0riental Missionary Society, Ford Philpot Evangelistic Association; Spanish Evangelistic Crusades; Grace Bible Institute Omaha, Neb., and was widely known as a Gideon speaker.
Survived by his wife, Ilva; two brothers, Elroy M. Rupp, Delta, and Virgil D. Rupp, Greenville, S. C., and one sister, Mrs. Earl Short, Delta.
Services were held at First Missionary church, Ft Wayne, Tuesday, 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Cornelius Vlot. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.

SARAH ANN (Rashley) RUPP

OBITUARY OF MRS. SARAH ANN RUPP
Sarah Ann Rashley, daughter Of David and Katherine (Rupp) Rashley was born in Fulton County, Ohio August 13, 1880, and passed from this life July 13, 1958 after a brief illness in the Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green, Ohio. She had reached the age of 77 years and 11 months.
On Dec. 7, 1899 she was united in marriage to Irvin Rupp in Wauseon. Their marriage was blessed with the birth of two sons and one daughter. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Wauseon for 34 years and a life long resident of Fulton County. Mrs. Rupp was *preceeded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by one daughter Mrs. Alta Porter, Wauseon; two sons Allen Rupp, Bowling *Preen, Ohio and Veryl Rupp, Suffolk, Va.; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Boyers, Wauseon and Mrs. Ella Rowe, Toledo.
Services were held Wednesday, July 16, 1958 in the Penrod Funeral Home, Wauseon with the Rev. M. Dale Humbert and the Rev. Clyde Hunter of Bowling *Breen officiating and the interment was made in the Wauseon Cemetery.

Mrs. Sarah Ann Rupp, 77, passed away in the Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green, Sunday evening after a brief illness. She was a native and life long resident of Fulton County and was making her home at the time of her death with her daughter, Mrs. Alta Porter. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Wauseon. Mrs. Rupp is survived by two sons, Allen Rupp, Bowling Green, Ohio and Veryl Rupp, Suffolk, Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Alta Porter, Wauseon; 3 granddaughters; two sisters, Mrs. Liddia Boyers, Wauseon and Mrs. Ella Rowe, Toledo.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:30 P. M. in the Penrod Funeral Home, Wauseon with the Rev. M. Dale Humbert and the Rev. Clyde Hunter of Bowling Green officiating. Interment will be in the Wauseon cemetery.

Simon Roth Rupp
Simon R. Rupp, son of Jacob F. and Eilza Rupp, was born near Pettisville, Ohio, June 4, 1889, and departed this life at his late home near Union City, Penn., July 18, 1942, at the age of 53 years. Death resulted from peritonitis due to a cancerous condition of the bowels from which he suffered for the past several years. In 1921 he was united in marriage to Blanche Davenport. To this union were born two sons who died in infancy, and two daughters. His parents and one brother Samuel preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his departure: his companion and daughters, Ruth Jane and Lettie Jean; five brothers; Henry, Enos, Harmon, Jacob and Adam, four sisters: Mrs. Rosa Beck, Mrs. Lydia Schmucker, Mrs. Mary Wyse, and Mrs. Fannie Severson, and a host of relatives and friends. He accepted Christ in early life and was a devoted husband and father. He was well known in the community and was respected by all who knew him.

It may be in the better land;
We'll read the meaning of our tears,
And there, sometime, we'll understand.?

Sam. C. Rupp, 69, Crushed Under Truck Wheels
Sam C. Rupp, 69, Elmira crushed to death Wednesday evening at about 5:30 by a truck loaded with feed on the farm of his son Ray A. Rupp, east of Burlington. Mr. Rupp, a retired farmer, was assisting Herbert Short in hauling feed to the Ray Rupp farm and had driven the truck near the barn and got out of the cab, asking Mr. Short to back the truck into the barn. Mr. Rupp walked to the rear of the truck and when Mr. Short was backing the truck slowly into the barn, Mr. Rupp was crushed under the dual rear wheel.
What happened is unknown but R. K. Vogel, Fulton County coroner who investigated and determined the death as accidental, said Mr. Rupp may have stumbled and fell beneath the truck or suffered a heart attack. Mr. Vogel said it did not appear that Mr. Rupp was struck by the truck. Dale Trigg, deputy sheriff, of Fulton County investigated the tragedy and Archbold's Rescue Squad was summoned to the scene of the accident. Mr. Short said he felt nothing unusual when backing the loaded truck. Deceased spent his lifetime in this community and retired from farming a few years ago. Survived by his wife, Verna, three sons, Ralph, Bryan; Charles, Fayette; Ray A., Archbold; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Roth of Fayette and Alice, Adrian, Mich.; two brothers, Rev. Wm. J. Rupp, Archbold; Menno Rupp, Wauseon; three sisters, Mrs. Emery Sigg and Mrs. Harvey Graber, both of Wauseon and Mrs. Charles Ruger of Archbold and 15 grandchildren.
Services were held at Grisier's and at Ev. Mennonite church, Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev, H. E. Bertsche. Burial in Floral Grove cemetery, West Unity.

Vernie Fay Rupp rites held Sat.
Mrs. Vernie Fay Rupp, 86, of Archbold, died Wednesday afternoon at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold where she had resided the past nine years since her health began failing. She was born near West Unity, living in the West Unity and Archbold areas her entire lifetime. She was the widow of Sam C. Rupp and was a member of the Evangelical Mennonite Church, in Archbold. She is survived by three sons, Charles of Fayette, Ralph of Stryker, and Ray A. of Archbold; two daughters, Alice Rupp of Adrian, Michigan, and Mrs. Florence Roth of Archbold; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. Floyd Bowman, of Deland, Florida and Orville Bowman of Cape Carol, Florida; and one sister Mrs. Ed (Leona), Meier, of Swanton. Services were held on Saturday at the Evangelical Mennonite Church with Pastor Charles L. Zimmerman and Pastor Roger Andrews officiating. Interment was in Floral Grove Cemetery near West Unity. Short Funeral Home in Archbold was in charge of the arrangements.

WILLIAM J. RUPP
William J. Rupp, son of Moses and Anna Weckessor Rupp, was born January 24, 1887 in German Township and passed away March 1, 1973 at Fairlawn Haven, Archbold, Ohio, at the age of 86 years, 1 month, 5 days. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Godshall of Montgomery County, Penna., February 3, 1910. They made their home on the State Road, U.S. 20 for many years, engaged in farming.
In May, 1918, they were United with the Reformed Mennonite Church. He was placed in the ministry in 1924 and as Bishop in 1941, which he served faithfully in the calling. Preceding him in death *were one daughter, Viola May Quillet, May 8, 1947. Also two brothers, Mose Jr. and Samuel, and two sisters, Sarah Ruger, and Emma Ruger. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth, four sons: John H. of Fayette; Ervin W. of Archbold: Vernon G. of West Unity, and William Jr. of West Unity. Two daughters, Fern (Mrs. Kenneth Lauber), Archbold, and Betty Ann at home. Also surviving are one brother, Menno of Tedrow; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Graber, Archbold, Mrs. Anna Sigg of Tedrow; 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.

MRS. W. M. RUPP (Katie B. ROTH)
Mrs. Wm. C. Rupp, 61 passed away early Saturday morning, Oct. 5, 1946, in her home near Wauseon after a short illness due to heart trouble. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 in Central Mennonite church with Revs. Henry Wyse, Ed. Frey and Jesse Short in charge. Interment in Pettisville cemetery. Surviving are husband, one step-daughter Mrs. Ivah Wyse, one daughter Mrs. Lester Miller, step-son Henry of Wauseon, three sons, Levi W., Archbold, Glenn, Smithville, O., and Harold at home, 16 grandchildren, step-great-grandchild, and brother Mr. Dan. P. Roth, Elmira.

LEWIS RYAN (1952)
Lewis Ryan, 60, Fulton county commissioner, died suddenly of a heart attack, Thursday noon, Jan. 20, a few miles from his Delta home. Services were held Sunday afternoon at Penrod funeral home, Delta, conducted by Rev. Jesse Frey at Brailey. Burial in Winameg cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Orpha, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Marion Thompson, Delta, a sister, Mrs. William Harrington, Lima. Deceased was Fulton county commissioner for seven years; served as president Society, was widely known as an auctioneer, owned several farms and had other business interests.

MRS. HENRY RYCHENER
Mrs. Henry Rychener, 89, passed away in her home in Pettisville, O., Monday morning, April 24, 1949, having been ailing since the first of December. The body is at home and funeral services will be held in Central Mennonite church, Wednesday, at 2:30 p.m., Revs. H. Wyse, J. Short, P. B. Lantz officiating. Interment in Pettisville cemetery. Surviving are five sons: Clarence, William and Marcus of Pettisville, Raymond of Buffalo, N.Y., Jesse of Columbus, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Samuel and Joseph of Holden, Missouri.

MRS. SARAH (Nafziger) RYCHENER
Sarah Rychener, daughter of John and Anna Magdalena (Raber) Nafziger, was born in Hickory, Co., Missouri, on March 20, 1885, died at Fairlawn Haven, Archbold, Ohio, November 4, 1964, aged 79 years, 7 months and 15 days. Her mother died when Sarah was eight years old, at which time she was taken into the home of Preacher Henry Rychener. At the age of 12 she moved with them from Missouri to Fulton Co., Ohio. On July 21, 1907, she was united in marriage to Harvey H. Rychener. Together they shared life's joys and sorrows for over 57 years.
To this union were born three sons and two daughters. In about 1909 she confessed Christ, was baptized, and became a member of the Mennonite Church in Fulton Co., Ohio. She was a faithful member of the West Clinton Mennonite church at the time of her death. She maintained a steadfast faith in God and often expressed her submission to God's will and her readiness to depart at His call. On June 30, 1964, she suffered a stroke and was taken to the hospital. She recovered sufficiently to be taken to Fairlawn Haven on July 20, where she resided until her death.
She is survived by her husband Harvey H. Rychener; two sons, Elden and Glen, both of Pettisville, Ohio, and two daughters, Dorothy, Mrs. Freeman Short of Archbold, Ohio and Gladys, Mrs. Sherm Taylor of Defiance, Ohio. One son died at birth. Other survivors include 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Simon Klopfenstein of West Unity, Ohio and Mrs. Levi Witmer of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and many other relatives and friends.
Services were held at Short Funeral Home and West Clinton Mennonite church Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. E. B. Frey, Rev. Carl Smeltzer, Rev. Elden Merillet. Burial in Pettisville Cemetery.
